The
academic mission at Georgia
State University(GSU) has changed considerably
since it was established in 1913.
Research
involving biological agents and recombinant
DNA has dramatically increased over the
past several decades which has resulted
in many unique and complex challenges.
These matters have been further complicated
by new federal rules and regulations
which were introduced to help protect
the public against the threat of bioterrorism.
This site was developed to assist the
GSU community in complying with these
new rules and regulations as well as
adhering to the guiding principles of
biosafety.
Please enjoy the site
